TRAVEL & FOOD: OUR SIDE OF TOWN — LOS ANGELES & THE WORLD

OFF VINE

 THE FIRE AT OFF VINE

I just received this from our friends at Off Vine - Naturally our thoughts go out them as they rebuild the historic craftsman bungalow that has been a respite for all of us through these many years – eating at Off Vine was like taking a mini-vacation from the rat race in the middle of Hollywood.  We will miss them but look forward to their reopening before the end of the year – Rona

OFF VINE - HISTORIC CRAFTSMAN - TERRIFIC FOOD

Off Vine Restaurant suffered an electrical fire on the second floor on Sunday, April 27 at 5:15 p.m. We are blessed and grateful thatno one was harmed and that our staff escorted everyone to safety. . . they will remain Off Vine heros.

As we watched Engine Company 27 save our little yellow housewhat they accomplished was nothing short of a miracle. Our first floor dining room and outside garden remain intact, as well as the craftsman-style ambience and charm that are part of what makes Off Vine so special.

To Engine Company 27, the L.A. Police Department and everyone who worked so hard . . . Thank You!

To you – our clientele, our friends, our family – your support throughout the years and most recently during these times has been overwhelming. The messages left on our voicemail, the emails you’ve sent, and the surprise visits supplied with hugs and smiles of support mean the world to us. We could not get through this without you.

We have decided to take this experience and use it as a positive opportunity to give our little yellow house a face-lift . . . after all, we are in Hollywood! We encourage everyone to call us at 323 962-1900 or email us at offvinerestaurant@sbcglobal.net or just stop in at 6263 Leland Way to see how we’re doing! We will keep you all updated with our progress.

Hang in there with us. Our remodel should only take a few months. We’ll be back as soon as possible serving up our mouth watering calamari, our sweet pecan breaded chicken cutlets, our sexy sauteed salmon drizzled in a raspberry cabernet sauce and of course . . . our amazing dessert souffles . . . chocolate, aspberry, grand-marnier (and who could forget pumpkin) just in time for the holiday season!!!

From all of us at Off Vine Restaurant . . .

Thank you. We’ll see you soon (323) 962-1900.

Greg, Tony, Richard and the Entire Staff
